Christine de Michele

“Here is a voice unforgettable and forgiving, acrobatic in its range, soaring and sweet.  She can sing light and breezy – she can sing dark and dour; Christine de Michele delivers the song with exquisite surprise and innovative phraseology.” – Timothy Underberry, Songwriter
“Her music has a distinct feel. It’s a touch French, with a retro vibe, reminiscent of the mid-60’s classics. Christine de Michele has beautiful vintage sound.”
– Linda Lorence, SESAC
At 10, her first published work reached 3 million readers – a poem, of seven lines.  Still, she begins by playing with words, collecting them, forming snapshots, then setting them to music.
In her recent live project Fast Forward Play Pause, where she interprets Radiohead and Bjork, rearranges work such as Sonny Bono’s Bang Bang and performs sparse originals against a backdrop of moving images, Christine de Michele is said to “blur the lines between art forms, musical genres and performance practices.”
Keisha Hutchins Hurlinger, Songwriter
She has performed at Higher Ground, Great Scott, TT the Bears, The Lizard Lounge, The Middle East, WERS Radio, WBAI Radio, The Cell Theatre, City Winery among others.
Christine de Michele lives and works in New York City.
